Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & The Turquoise Waters of Detwah Lagoon

Upon your arrival at Socotra Airport, our expert local team will welcome you and transfer you directly to your first camp at the breathtaking Detwah Lagoon. Spend your afternoon unwinding on the shore, swimming in the warm turquoise waters, or exploring the surrounding cliffs to capture expansive landscape shots. Wrap up your first day with a freshly prepared dinner at camp beneath a blanket of stars.

After a fresh breakfast at camp, a brief 15-minute drive brings us to the traditional fishing village of Qalansiyah. From here, we embark on a 30-minute boat excursion to the untouched white sands of Shuab Beach. Keep your camera ready, as pods of spinner dolphins frequently surf the bow wakes along this dramatic coastline. After enjoying the serene beach, we return to the lagoon for lunch and offer an optional walk to meet Eliah, the island's most famous cave dweller, before heading back to camp for dinner.

Today we head inland, ascending toward the stunning Diksam Plateau and descending into the deep limestone gorge of Wadi Dirhur. During the wet season, the canyon fills with emerald freshwater pools perfect for a refreshing swim. Afterward, we continue to the ancient Firhmin Forest, home to the highest concentration of endemic Dragon's Blood trees. We will camp directly within the forest, offering a surreal setting for astrophotography.

Wake up early to document a spectacular forest sunrise before breakfast. Take a short guided walk to see how locals sustainably extract the historic red sap from the Dragon's Blood trees. We then drive south to explore the cavernous depths of Degub Cave, followed by lunch along the sweeping Indian Ocean coastline at Omaq Beach. End your day capturing the golden light over the dramatic, wind- sculpted sand dunes of Hayf and Zahaq before turning in at our beachside camp.

Following breakfast, we journey to Wadi Kalissan for an incredible 1-hour hike down into a canyon filled with unique bottle trees. At the bottom, rewards await in the form of deep, crystal-clear freshwater pools framed by stark white limestone. After a refreshing swim and a light trail snack, we drive to the iconic Archer Beach. Here, massive, towering white sand dunes cascade down sheer vertical cliffs directly into the crashing ocean waves.

For the adventurous, the day begins at 5:00 AM with a challenging climb up Archer's massive dunes for a magnificent sunrise. After breakfast, we embark on a rewarding 2-to-3-hour trek to Hoq Cave, exploring its massive interior filled with ancient stalactites and stalagmites. In the late afternoon, we drive to Ras Aresal, the wild eastern tip of the island, to watch the sunset where currents collide, before returning to Archer Beach for our final night of camping.

Today we journey into the conservation area of Homhil to reach its famous natural infinity pool. Surrounded by frankincense and bottle trees, you can swim right to the edge of the plateau for an unmatched view of the sea. After a valley lunch, we head down to the Dihamri Marine Protected Area. Spend your afternoon snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs teeming with exotic marine life, and capture a final dramatic island sunset from the nearby red cliffs. returning to Archer Beach for our final night of camping.

Enjoy your final breakfast at camp before we travel to the capital city of Hadiboh. Here, you can browse local shops for authentic souvenirs, including Socotra's world-renowned wild honey.
