Welcome to the world’s most extraordinary island, guided by the people who call it home.

Socotra is a name few have heard — but everyone who arrives says the same thing: nothing could have prepared me for this.
Floating in the Arabian Sea between Yemen and the Horn of Africa, Socotra is home to over 700 plant and animal species found absolutely nowhere else on the planet. It was isolated from the mainland for so long that evolution went its own way here — producing the iconic Dragon’s Blood Tree with its unmistakable umbrella canopy, neon-blue dragon blood that seeps from its bark, and a landscape so otherworldly that filmmakers have used it as a stand-in for alien worlds.
UNESCO designated Socotra a World Heritage Site in 2008, recognizing what those who visit already know: this island is irreplaceable. Pristine beaches stretch for kilometers without a single footprint. Mountains rise sharply from the coast, sheltering endemic wildlife and ancient frankincense trees. Coral reefs teem with 730 species of coastal fish and 230 species of hard coral.
Socotra isn’t a destination for the passive traveler. It’s a destination for those who want to stand somewhere genuinely different — somewhere that changes you.
